About Us

The Review of Environmental Governance addresses the structure, management and resourcing of the publicly funded elements of the environmental governance system in Northern Ireland and, at its conclusion, will bring forward proposals for future environmental governance arrangements in relation to environmental protection, the natural heritage and the built heritage.

The review is participative in its approach, conducts its work in an open and transparent fashion, and undertakes stakeholder consultation.

The review is conducted by an independent panel of environmental and governance experts (view Review Panel section), appointed by the Minister of the Environment.  The panel is serviced by a secretariat from the Department of the Environment’s Environmental Policy Group.  The panel or secretariat can be contacted using the details found in the Contact Us section of this website.

For more information on the review, please see the Scope of the Review section.
